My daughter lied to me despite every effort I made to help her feel safe enough to tell the truth. 

Because of our history, my mind created a whole host of unhelpful stories and those made it difficult for me to handle the situation well.

In this episode, I talk about the stories we tell ourselves and what to do when they're unhelpful and have the potential to cause more damage.
